Challenging Opposition With Strength

Many times when we are trying to stand up on our own two feet or when we are trying to achieve something which the world thinks we can’t, we have to muster up all the courage we have, to stand strong in the face of opposition. There will always be people who would be ready to mock you, remind you of your past failures & make sure to drill into your head that you are absolutely incapable of leading a dignified life.

My friend, if you are reading this, please remember that YOU ARE GOING TO ROCK IT ! Never ever pay heed to naysayers! They don’t realise the potential you have hidden inside you. Stay your course, no matter what. In order to achieve something big, we often have to face big hurdles. Don’t shy away from them. These hurdles will only make you a much more resilient human. Thank such naysayers for instilling resilience in you since this trait is needed to lead life on your own terms. NEVER GIVE UP ON YOUR DREAMS. Work hard to fulfill them. Never lose hope. I promise, things will work out in your favour, eventually.

Learning To Be Mentally Strong

In life if there is one lesson that should be understood by one & all (irrespective of the ‘n’ number of individual differences that exist in the world), it is that we need to be mentally well built. There is a reason why our brain is situated right on top of our bodies. Our mind rules everything. Perception is often different from sensation. Our perception defines our lives.


Imbibe the fact that we cannot possibly control everything – we can’t dictate the terms of someone else’s life. At best, we have power over our own lives & that ‘power’ streams from our mind. If we choose to be helpless in front of circumstances, then please remember we are making a CHOICE. If we are anyway choosing, it’s better to make a better, wiser choice, isn’t it? Opt to be in control of YOURSELF. Life will eventually fall in order because it consists of seasons – one season after the other & time heals the biggest of wounds. Don’t let yourself disintegrate with the winds of time rather be like pollen & fly with the wind to plant a new life 🙂


Secondly, BREATHE. Yeah, just that. Breathing in & out fully for 30-90 seconds helps in anxiety management. Don’t believe me? Try it out yourself the next time you are panicking over that dreaded exam or that investors’ pitch or even when someone dear is admitted in the hospital. Respiration has the power to heal your nerves.


Stress will always be a part of human & animal life. We can’t wish it away. Frankly, even animals undergo stress from time to time. During such times, never forget that we are more than the sum of all the chapters that exist in this book called ‘Life’. Some chapters may be hard but some are easy too. Let’s stride through this journey with a smile because we won’t help the situation by sobbing anyway. In fact, we may make it worse.

Let’s Be Calm :)

Anxiety comes naturally to us & so do it’s pillion riders called hypertension, diabetes, thyroid, panic attacks..the list is limitless. Our mind loves playing tricks with us. We need to love outsmarting it 🙂

Use logic to quieten your distressed self. Be conscious of each moment, guys. Take in a few deep breaths when your mind starts racing & coaxes you into believing that some upheaval is near when that’s clearly not true.

A calm, mature approach to any situation is always desirable. Anxiety only breeds immaturity & less thought – out actions. Breathe, think & act, not the other way round !

Believe In Yourself

“Oh, I should have done this. I should have said that then. How I wish I was more confident back then …. “

Familiar with these dialogues? Sure, we ALL are ! Aren’t these the same bullies who pay us an unsolicited visit every time we decide to walk on that less beaten track or when we start comparing ourselves with others ? Gosh, we really need to start respecting & loving our own selves.

Now, I’ll tell you something about bullies – they hide their insecurities behind aggression. That’s what regret (I rather call them learning) & under confidence also try to do with our minds – limit our ability to conquer the world by masking our cognition & emotion over a gloom of darkness. So what, if you didn’t achieve so-so thing before so-so time, you can very well go ahead & add so many new feathers to your cap.

LEARN from your past. Experiences exist to enrich us, not to demean us. Don’t beat yourself over what you could have done because in the process you’ll let go of what you can do. Don’t let your mind rule you, YOU should rule your mind.

You are a summation of the whole of your experiences & not a product of a few negative events that may have hit you like a cyclone. Understand yourself. Have compassion for yourself. There is no time limit for self enhancement, it’s a life long process. Move over your yesterdays to live a shining today & a fulfilling tomorrow. 🙂

Help? Sure But Conditions Apply !

What’s in it for ME? What will I gain out of it? Why should I do this for YOU?

Be honest & ask yourself, aren’t these the questions that cross your mind whenever someone asks you to do something which doesn’t directly/ indirectly concern you? If you graciously decide to help then you make sure to maintain a mental note of all the things you have done & wait for the right time to get the favor returned. Am I right ?

Most adult relationships are a form of quid pro quo, always looking for a high Return-On-Investment. Where has all the goodness-for-the-sake-of-goodness gone? Did it ever exist in real or has it just been a part of our collective consciousness? Why are we always taught to be virtuous when vice comes more naturally to humans?

Looking out for someone without an ulterior motive is so rare that if some kind soul actually exists, he/she is made to feel like a saint or a Nobel Peace Prize winner – someone rooting for peace in a world where violence & anger exist organically but love & compassion need to be consciously developed !

Imagine a world where everyone thought of the other person before him/herself, forming a chain of benevolence. A space where unknown people were not suspected but thought of as those who would stand for what is right & would willing help a distressed person. This way wouldn’t we all be less anxious & happier souls?

Psychics

Have you ever met a psychic ? Anxiety about the future is something all of us grapple with. The fear of the unknown is real & oh-so-how & psychics are apparently able to see what life has in store. Now, that’s a superpower everyone wants! Having a GPS for navigating through life would reduce the mental & physical agony of humans to a great extent.Maybe someday, someone would develop an app for that, you never know! I haven’t met a psychic in real life, do you think they actually exist?
